This is part 2 of a 4 part post documenting the collaborative performance installation between Cessali Fournier and Jaclyn Rawls. The show, titled Home, interwove many aspects of trauma and healing within the context of domestic/family life. Although informed by the past, this show took place in the immediate presence. Home became a living space for healing.
In the images featured above, the bathroom of the exhibit is shown. Projected into the bath water was a video of a moon changing colors as it waxed and waned. New fruit and floating candles were offered as the old ones expired.
The toilet served as a writing station where visitors could write and release, and the sound of flushing often became a part of Home‘s shifting soundscape. The bathroom was definitely connected to the overall experience the show, but in many ways it also felt separate. In many ways it felt like a space out of time.
